The Kickstart Scheme offers six-month jobs for young people aged 16 to 24 years old who are currently claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment.
The Coronavirus pandemic has seen a great deal of people at a disadvantage. In particular, the younger age demographic that are lacking previous experience on their CV.
Due to our continued growth, we are able to accommodate this scheme within our people strategy. We are aware that there are people that are unemployed and who lack the necessary skills and experience to “hit the ground running”. What they do offer us though is enthusiasm, energy, fresh ways of thinking and untapped talent. These are the things that can’t be quantified through a CV, but can be nurtured and developed with good people management.
Our first placement has certainly ticked all those boxes and is well on his way to becoming an established member of the Logistics Team.
We are in the final stages of recruiting and additional placements within Logistics and HR/H&S Departments.
